Sunrise Nursery

The following sets out the terms and conditions of the contract which will exist between your family and Sunrise Nursery. We aim to make the admission policy and financial procedures as straight forward as possible to avoid confusion and to keep the level of fees as low as we can, commensurate with providing a high level of care. Should we need to amend any of the following details you will be given at least two months notice.

Opening times

Sunrise Nursery is open from 8am until 6pm. Our staff start work before 8am in order to ensure that each room is safe and welcoming. Under the conditions of our Insurance staff are unable to allow any children into the nursery before 8am. This does not include our 'drop in' Breakfast Club which opens at 7-30 in the Toddler Room. The nursery will be closed during all public holidays and for the period between Christmas and New Year. There will be no reduction in monthly fees for Bank Holidays as the effects are spread throughout the year. However, we will not make a charge for the Christmas Week when we are closed. If the Nursery is obliged to close due to extraneous circumstances such as a flu outbreak, fees would still be due.

We have a strict adult/child ration, set down by OFSTED and agreed by the nursery, for the safety and welfare of the children. Staff have different shift patters to enable the nursery to stay open for 10 hours daily.

Sickness and Medication

We work very hard at Sunrise Nursery to reduce the spread of illnesses and infections. To help us please do not bring your child to nursery if they are unwell. Please see our Incubation and Exclusion Periods of Common Childhood Illnesses tab for more detailed information.

Should your child become unwell during the day we will contact you to advise you of the problem and ask you to collect your child if necessary. We fully understand the demands placed on working parents but we ask that you try to come as soon as possible after requested as we will only ask if absolutely necessary. We keep a record of these requests in your child's profile. If your child is unable to attend please telephone the nursery as soon as possible.

If you child has a sickness bug we ask for them to be kept away from nursery for 48 hours aftre the last episode. In this way we can eliminate the bug more quickly. The nursery is permitted to administer certain prescribed medicine to children, for example inhales and certain regular courses of treatment. Should your child need medication please inform the  Manager or the Room Supervisor at the earliest opportunity. There is a comprehensive administration of medicines procedure in place for staff to follow. Please see our policies tab for more information.

Safety and Security

We have a strict collection policy in order to prevent unauthorised access to the nursery. Should it be necessary for your child to be collected by someone other than yourselves, please contact the Manager or Room Supervisor as soon as possible. We operate a password system to ensure your child's safety. If we are unsure about any collection we will keep your child at Sunrise until mwe have been able to contact you to confirm the change of plan.

Fees

All fees are payable monthly in advance, and are due, on the first day of the month.  Settling in visits will be charged at a flat rate of £3.50 per hour. A late payment fee of £10 will be added to any invoice unpaid by the 20th of the month, unless other arrangements have been agreed by our Managing Director.

Registration

Completed registration forms should accompany all applications for a nursery place, along with a form accepting our terms and conditions signed by the parents and a £30.00 registration fee. When the nursery has received these you will be allocated a place on the waiting list or offered a place. If there are no spaces for your child your registration fee will be refunded. One month’s notice is required to withdraw a child from nursery or to reduce the number of days. These timescales are necessary as invoices and daily registers are drawn up in advance.

Miscellaneous

Please do not send your child to nursery with crisps, sweets or chocolate biscuits! The other children see these delights and want the same.

Except for the very young and certain ‘security blankets‘, please do not bring your child’s toys to nursery. The other children want to play with them and this causes many arguments. Invariably the smaller toys become integrated into nursery resources and cannot be found at the end of the day or they are broken during the day. Again tears and arguments can be avoided if they are left at home, in your car or on your child’s peg.

We accept no responsibility for small accessories such as hair slides and children’s rings which are almost always lost by the end of the day!
